Quality Information That Is Search Engine Friendly

A little ways back into the past when the search engines first came around (1998) it was very easy to rank a site because all you would have to do to dominate the search engines was to spam your pages with keywords that were relative to your site and place artificial meta in the website were all tricks people would use to get their websites ranked.  Now times have changed.  If you do the same tricks, you will eventually get banned from the search engines and most likely not be invited back.

The search engines have become so aware of these techniques and now have programs to set out and find the most relative content for each search query.  If you have links from any government, news site that are ranked very high because the content is always changing, the search engines realize that if these top notch sites are linking to you then your site will get ranked higher because your site will provide a better user experience for the web searchers. If you have low quality links that are just spam, the search engines will penalize your website for having those links.  I would much rather have 10 quality links than 1000 garbage links.

Another simple tool that Google uses to measure and rate your website is by the page rank.  Page rank is very hard to achieve but once you have yourself a good page rank it will also help with the search engine placement. Page rank can be labeled from 1 to 10. One, being the lowest page rank and ten being the highest.  Page rank is basically a way Google ranks a pages links that come to the home page.  If you have great quality links, then your page rank will increase.  Some people focus on page rank and some people do not believe in it.  That decision will have to be made by you.

Here are some examples of how the search engines determine the value of the links in your site.

The Anchor text of the link – The anchor text is the text that is blue and underlined that are visible for someone to click if they are interested in learning more information.  Usually the anchor text will be a popular keyword that most people are searching for that is relative to your site. Once that link is clicked it will direct them to another page on the website or another website.

Popularity Of The Site Around The Globe – If you have a website that is very popular in the United States with quality links to other quality websites it will have very strong links. But, if your website is very popular around the globe and also have links to other countries that very strong as well, the global links will be considered far more powerful.

Quality of Pages You Are Linking to – If the pages you are linking to do not provide quality content that is relative to your website, then it is not worth linking to.  Always make sure that if you are going to link out to another website, make sure it is filled with great content. This will make sure that this link is a very powerful link which will also help you improve your search engine placement.
